Calm Edge Residence
The Calm Edge Residence was an interior-only design project for a compact urban home. With the civil layout fixed, the focus was on transforming the space through interiors alone — while meeting a very specific and thoughtful brief from the client: avoid sharp corners, edges, or any element that could cause accidental harm.

What We Wanted to Solve
The existing layout and furniture felt boxy and rigid. The challenge was to create a home that felt soft, safe, and inviting — purely through interior design interventions.
This meant rethinking the geometry of furniture, storage, lighting, and decor to ensure the home felt visually warm and physically safe without compromising on modern aesthetics.
Concept & Vision
The concept revolved around a soft-curved design language.
Rounded profiles, eased edges, curved panelling, and flowing forms were introduced to replace the typical straight-lined, hard-edged approach found in most compact homes.
The palette was kept warm-minimalist — soft wood tones, warm neutrals, and diffused lighting to enhance the sense of comfort and safety.

Our Approach
Since no structural changes were allowed, the interior strategy focused on:
• Designing custom furniture with curved edges and rounded forms
• Embedding soft, indirect lighting to complement the gentle geometry
• Using materials with smooth textures to make the space tactile and welcoming
• Creating visual softness through fabric choices, radius profiles, and wall finishes
Every detail — from the TV unit to wardrobe shutters to kitchen handles — followed the "no sharp edge" philosophy.
What We Delivered
The completed interiors feel warm, safe, and beautifully fluid. The home transitions from one space to another without any abrupt visual breaks.
Key outcomes include:
• Custom furniture with radius profiles and soft curves
• Rounded-edge storage units and side tables
• Warm ambient lighting without harsh glare
• A cohesive material palette that enhances the softness
